The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical and electromechanical products for GSSI ground penetrating radar products. This position requires thorough understanding of the products and their intended use, current and developing manufacturing techniques and materials, and an overall knowledge of modern documentation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Developing and inventing new concepts for GSSI GPR products
  • Designing, assembling and supporting electro-mechanical parts and assemblies
  • Developing manufacturing processes for fabricating, building, assembling, and installing components
  • Assuring system and product quality by helping to monitor fabrication, assembly, and installation processes
  • Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty designs
  • Recommend design modifications to eliminate malfunctions or make product or process improvements
  • Confer with engineers and other personnel to implement procedures and provide technical information
  • Ensuring compliance with government regulations
  • Writing specifications for equipment and maintaining design history documentation
  • Working with vendors on product specifications and mechanical component selection

 Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering minimum
  • 3+ years' related Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge of CAD/CAM including Inventor
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical theories, design principles and practices and design evaluation techniques
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to properly communicate with peers and members of the management team
  • Excellent prioritization and project development skills
