This position is responsible for generating new business and ensuring the growth of existing accounts in the utility, construction, and inspection markets for the assigned geographical territory.  The Territory Sales Manager uses technical knowledge to match the attributes of GSSI products to customer requirements.  Proficient in the setup and operation of GSSI products and software as required in support of the assigned application(s).  Assists in the coordination of relevant exhibitions and trade shows in the assigned territory.  Communicates field feedback related to existing product enhancements, future market requirements and competitive updates back to GSSI. The Territory Sales Manager must reside in the state of California.

 Primary Responsibilities:

  • Territory development and account management

    • Proactively develop sales opportunities in the assigned territory.

    • Timely response to all customer inquiries.

    • Organize participation in key exhibitions.

    • Detailed accounting of selling activities into the customer relationship management (CRM) database.

  • Meet and exceed annual revenue objectives

  • Product development

    • Provide product feedback, market, and competitive information to Product Marketing, Engineering Management as appropriate.

Education, Skills, and Experience:

  • Proven track record of selling effectively to all levels within the customer organization.

  • Bachelor Degree in business, marketing, earth sciences, or a construction related degree. Other education experience may be considered. 

  • Ability to field questions, understand and match product attributes to customer needs, and sell effectively against the competition.

  • Ability to communicate effectively (written, oral) with customers and company employees in an accurate and timely manner.

  • Attention to detail, a "can-do" attitude, and the proven ability to work as part of a team.

  • Advanced computer skills, including a proficiency in MS Office.

  • Experience with a CRM tool, preferably SalesForce.

Travel Requirements:

This position will require up to 40% overnight travel.
